A freind bought a 2nd hand Kindle but found what must have been the original owners Facebook on it. She can not find a way of removing it. Any ideas please

Try putting it back to factory settings (although you might lose all the books you have on it too,so put them on a memory stick before you do it)

Not sure, but I think if you go to settings you can de-register an account.
