Hello. I am starting my Photography project for my Art A-Level and am in need of some assistance. The theme for the project is ''Light''. I need to find proverbs or sayings, involving light (ie: ''There is light at the end of the tunnel" and "Every cloud has a silver lining") to use as inspiration in my photographs. If anyone could post some, it would be a tremendous help. I have searched on Google, and a majority of the quotes returned are Bible related, however I have found some good ones such as 'Why look in the dark for light'. Thanks in advance!

"Stay out of the light" - Poltergiest

Later in the same film... "Run to the Light"

God said, Let there be light, and there was and you could see for miles!

A corny thing, but I think there is a song, or a lyric, or a line in a film that goes "you light up my life."

Not really a proverb, but I hope this could help.

I'm not suggesting you're lazy, in fact I'm lazy because there's one downstairs but it's too late for me to be bothered to look through it, but maybe you could have a look through a proverb dictionary or dictionary of quotations at your college library?

I escaped thunder and fell into the lightening.

A light breath fans the flame, a violent gust extinguishes it.

Light belly - heavy heart.

After darkness comes light.

Dont hide your light under a bushel.

If you see things "In the cold light of day" you see them as they really are

on the main page search for 'light' under 'quotes'

you'll get wonderful stuff like these I've quoted - and it may give you ideas for a quirky way at looking at light - good luck..

  • Take away a man's light, his clothes, his food, his friends, his air, and you leave him with nothing but himself. And for most, that is not pleasant company.

  • our light will play across living faces that laugh and agonize

  • Softly, as in a morning sunrise / The light of love comes stealing / Into a newborn day.

  • Sometimes, to order to see the light, you have to risk the dark.

  • Light is but a farewell gift from the darkness to those on their way to die.

  • Dust is a funny thing. It's everywhere all at once, like a teeny, tiny snowstorm, in every ray of light.

Flip it on its head

'its always darkest before dawn'
