Women and toilet seats

Why do women make such a big fuss when men leave the toilet seat up? It's soooo difficult to put it back down themselves! :p

sadistic, i say; poor bloke dashes in to the loo and some clog left the seat up, you just know it's up on a teetery balance waiting to come guillotining down at the wrong moment. Duct tape it down i say, no remove it; each person can bring their own, then they know its clean, wear it round your neck as a fashion accessory or get an inflatable one in neon glow so you can't miss it. :-)
Unfortunately yes I have heard of a light switch but when one is half asleep its not really top of the priorities list. gettin to the bowl is! And if my detail is to much I apologise. I thought u wanted to know why we women get peed of at the seat and in no uncertain terms I told you and made it quite clear so hopefully the penny will drop this time.
Trinity, I think switching the light on should be near the top of priorities, then you wouldn't pee yourself. As for the details, there are nicer ways of describing what happens to you. And why should men have to put the toilet seat down. Women never put it up, so when a man goes to the toilet in a hurry he has to put the seat up himself. Sometimes it's only a split second between success and failure.
I really don't understand the arguments given. What difference does it make if guys pee all over the toilet! It's still going to be there whether the toilet seat's up or down. And what does hygiene have to do with it? If the man puts down the toilet seat it's more hygienic, is it! If you want to be more comfortable, put the toilet seat down yourself. I know it's a lot to ask but I'm sure you can manage that monumental task on your own! Everyone seems to be missing the point. I don't want to know why you want the toilet seat down, that's obvious. I want to know why women can't just put the toilet seat down themselves. Is that too much to ask?
The fact of the matter is women pee straight down into the water and away it flushes men pee all round the edges actually get drips on the top of the toilet and most of the time its women that clean the toilet. So unless your going to sit on and wee then why not just shut the lid down yourself as for the other stuff why should we.Its you men that pee standing up so untill women pee standing up we reserve the right to have to put the toilet seat down
Anushika, you're missing the point here. I don't want to know why women want the toilet seat down. I want to know why men have to put it down for women when they can do it themselves. I (along with every other man) don't expect women to put the seat up after they've used the toilet, so why do women expect me (and other men) to put it down when I'm (we're) finished? Another thing, I'm talking about the toilet seat, not the toilet lid. There's a difference.
Tracyh, I'm guessing (and very much hoping) that you were joking about the feng shui thing. As for the hygiene issue, you're wrong. You (like Anushika) were talking about the toilet seat, when you obviously meant the toilet lid. Putting down the lid will prevent germs from spreading beacuse it stops toilet water and the contents of the toilet from being sprayed all over the bathroom. Putting down the seat will only slightly reduce it. I agree that the lid should be put down after every use which means the seat has to be put down as well, but I don't see why the seat should be put down for the reasons given by Trinity. Sounds like sexism to me, which women seem to know all about ;)
