Hi everyone not sure if this is the right place to put this but as theres no section dedicated to fashion/clothes/shoes I thought I'd put it here.

I'm getting married next year and wearing a dress! As I'm far from a girly girl I am wearing ballet pumps with the dress. They are ivory/off white and gorgeous. The problem is I bought what I thought was my size but they are too long.I have tried padding out the toes and heels but this hasnt helped much. The pumps are lacy and semi see through so I cant do the extra pairs of socks trick

I have looked online and seen suggestions to use anti rub tape, heel grips and insoles.I'd like to use a solution that someone on here has tried and tested so I wont waste money on things that wont work.I love the shoes and want to wear them and I cant send them back as they were from ebay

All comments and ideas welcome

TIA lovely AB-ers :D

To bring the shoe down about a 1/2 size, I'd use an insole and a heel grip together, it's worked for me. Bear in mind if the shoe is a good size too big them there's not a lot you can do except buy the next size down.
Sorry, meant to say congratulations.

A quick note to all AB-ers.The title of my post has at least 2 spelling errors and I meant to remove it before posting but I forgot and now I cant remove it.My apologies
Oh, you're welcome!
I wonder if you bought the same lacy ballet pumps I did? I ask because mine were at least one size bigger than the listing (and size label) said, they were also from eBay and are ivory see through lace. I am giving them to the local charity shop because all attempts to make them wearable have failed.
Hang on Daffy are they the size catcuddler needs? I would have done the same as rocky, extra insoles and heel grips.
you CAN send them back to eBay, saying the sizing is wrong, and ask them to exchange them, if they are an eBay shop!
Mine were only cheap and the seller said return postage was my responsibility, they wanted first class signed for return as well :-/ I thought it was cheaper to keep them and chalk it up to experience (they weren't expensive). Mine were supposed to be a size 5 but are at least a 6.
Ooops, put they were cheap twice in one post (sort of) :)
Sorry I meant to say congratulations too.
Can you attach ribbon or elastic over the top like ballet shoes and tied them on?
Its your wedding - cut your loses qnd buy another pair that fit. Sell the old ones on ebay if you like and get what you can for them. Either way you really don't need to be thinking about your shoes all day. Be comfortable and have a fabulous time.
