02 peugeot 307. It's always been a bit wobbly, but now the indicator doesn't go off about 20% of the time, esp when trying to indicate right. This has caused me to have a few horns honked & flashed lights when I have thought I've been indicating, but the indicator lights have not been going off.

Is this a common fault? anyone any idea how much a new one will cost - i suspect they're not cheap?

Whenever my Stalk misbehaves I get loads of feedback...........especially from Mrs McM.

You ask a perfectly innocuous question in motoring... and here comes the CB smut - I just can't get away from it....!
thanks McM - that helps. x
Replacing indicator should not be a big deal and should not be costly. Ask at your local Peugeot garage to get quote..........they may just take a quick look and find a loose wire. Apologies for my earlier flippancy.
Hi salla,

May be able to fix the indicator stalk if it's just come off it's mounting, so i would take it to a garage/or mechanic......even to a Peogeot dealer, for a FREE diagnosis ( make sure you ask them first ) as to what the fault is............if it needs to get repaired go with the cheapest quote......if a new one is needed, and too expensive from the garge to supply and fit... try looking on e-bay for new parts.....should be able to find one there....and arrange a mechanic to just fit it for you, and may be cheaper in the process.

Good luck, honey xx

Thanks guys - mcm I was only being tongue-in-cheek. Let's face it - if I'm going to title a thread "Stalk misbehaving....", well, I'm asking for it aren't I?!!!

(my son used to work in the parts dept of a peugeot garage & he reckons it's a sealed unit or some such, and that it could cost up to £180). I hope he's wrong.
innocuous question salla - lol
Aaah....if it's a sealed unit, like headlights for example......a fix may not be possible....so i would ask your son for his influence, and past experience to get Peugeot's parts dept to supply and fit you with a new unit for the best possible price.

Hope you get it sorted, salla

love yogi x
There are also breakers who sell off parts at very low cost.

peri ;-)
It's the way I tell 'em.....

I shall have a cruise around the breakers.
and you don't know a mechanic? i just rang my mate at a peugoet garage and she reckons its a comm 2000 and its only going to get worse....

around £200 - if you were near me i could of got you a discount!
did you notice how i managed to answer that sensibly with no smut

i'm quite proud of myself - oi ED take notice i can behave!!!!
Salla - you have an extremely rare and wonderful talent - asking a question about cars that enduces people to talk about sex and asking people about food that enduces people to talk about sex and asking people about music that enduces ----- you get the drift - lol
Think this is a common problem with this model. We were quoted £350 at dealers when we took it in for ABS recall. In total they found!! £1000 worth of repairs. We got shot of it.

Peri - thanks. I take that as a compliment, of sorts.... !

peapod & fluffy - Noooooooooooo?!! gordon bennett, my son wasn't too far off then with his £180 just for the part was he? Luckily the service manager at my local peugeot garage is an old friend & does things for me at cost price. Bl00dy good job by the sound of things.
Twas meant to be a compliment - and I want lessons !!
If you find out the part you need, and think you could fit it yourself, ask for a quote from breakeryard.com
