Yngwie Malmsteen has a lot of instrumental stuff, from classical guitar to simple improvisations. But his classical stuff is the best.

A few years ago David Bowie released a CD called "All Saints". It is basically his entire back catelogue of instrumentals ranging from neo-gothic scare music to post-modern jazz infusions. simply fantastic.

It is on www.play.com for a tenner but I have seen it in shops for about 4 quid.

Alas ebay have it now very cheap. Trust me, the best buy you will ever make.

check out "surfing with the alien" by Joe Satriani if you can get hold of it.

Albatross - Fleetwood Mac (the one in the M&S food advert)

Rumble and Jack the Ripper - Link Wray

Pipeline - Chantays

Asia Minor - Kokomo

Check out "The in sound from way out" by the Beastie Boys. No rapping just some really funky instrumentals spanning their career.
