Colditz
What is Colditz? I know that it's in Germany, but I have no idea what or whereabouts in Germany it is! Im due to fly out there tomorrow with my boyfriend, who's father is being a tour guide there for a week and just dont have the heart to say that i dont know what it is! Please help me!

It was supposed to be unescapable and was used to hold allied prisoners who had escaped from other POW camps. Despite the fact that there were more guards than prisioners - there was many successful escapes. British officers even managed to build a glider. Try a google search - there should be loads of articles on the castle on the web.

It went very well thankyou! Actually it was more interesting than I thought it was going to be because as you might have guessed history isn't my cup of tea! Very large culture shock though, the people there are completely orientated around the castle, and everyone who lives there wants to work there!
