I have an indoor red rose plant but it didn't come with any watering instructions. It looks dry and some of it's leaves have gone yellow but when i give it water it looks live i've given it too much. How often should i be watering it?

Going by what you say, yes it looks like you are giving it too much. Plants need watering much less in the winter, try letting it dry out a little inbetween waterings but not compleatly. sparingly once a week should be okay. sometimes the soil surfice can appear dry but can be soggey below.

If its draining well the water should be seen to seep through quickly. if you can see a gap between the pot and the soil, this is shrinkage due to drying out too much..

Roses are actually, never indoor plants and need to be kept like their bigger relatives. Put it outside in a sheltered spot and it should recover

Thanks. The soil looks soggy but all the buds look dried out. I think maybe it doesn't like the central heating. I'll try putting it outside...
