First it was the Olympics, now its the cricket. Have the Aussies lost their famous golden touch when it comes to sport ? Will they be falling on their boomerangs this morning ?

At the end of the Olympics last year, I tried to give succour to a Aussie colleague, by saying " Never mind mate, don't forget......Silver is the new Gold !"

Didn't go down terribly well, as I recall.

they'll just go to Aussie rules matches instead, a sport (a bit like baseball in the USA) at which they have few rivals (and a hugely popular one too).
