Im looking for an electrical apprenticeship in the Plymouth area (southwest). Does anyone have any idea of the companies I could enquire to?
Thanks

I don't know whether you still have any so-called "Technical Colleges" in your area but you could try contacting them and asking if they have any business relationships with specific local employers for their "sandwich" courses. Your local Chamber of Trade and Commerce might also have a list of local employers. Do you have an industrial trading estate anywhere near you. A ride round there might suggest some names as most companies have a sign with their name on.
Also, if you have a local paper, they might have a Business Section which features local employers who offer such facilities. If you ring up the Editor of the Business Section and explain your dilemma, they might be able to give you a few leads as they may have featured photos of successful students in the past, etc. Good luck. Hope you find something.
You need to get in touch with the Engineering Industry Training Board at http://www.ecitb.org.uk.
Don't be put off by the website referring to the construction industry. I think they've just had to morph to survive. This organisation coordinates apprenticeships for all trades and have great links with likely employers and colleges.
Good luck!
