Don't laugh too much, but I bought this second hand earlier this year. It's so slow I can't wait too long for the manual to download, that's if I find it.
If I close the lid and it goes to standby, how do I get it going again please?

Press the power button briefly and you'll be prompted to log back on.
You can change what closing the lid does, by going in to control panel >> power options.
You can choose from - When I close the lid - do nothing; sleep; hibernate or shut down (Windows Vista).
