There's no mention of a reward so I feel their chances of seeing it again are slim. What would it be worth?

Mine is now insured for over £8000.
don't know its value but the metal detector gang will probably be out in force

I'm sure the lost ring must have been something of great sentimental value. The offer of a substantial reward might have seen it returned.
I don't wear mine, in case I lose it. ;-)
Is it a sign of the times when a reward is needed to return something to it's rightful owner ?

Could you not get a paste replica made for everyday wear? :-)
Not flippin' likely, sandy. Too tacky!
The potential range is incredible dependent on quality of diamond and the setting.

Bare minimum would be ~£2k and can increase substantially.
You never know, I would definitely return it without a reward if I found it and I can't be alone. Maybe the ad is a requirement of aninsurance claim?
For a 1 carat £2000.would be a starting price.
Depends on the clarity and colour. As they say, size isn`t everything.
Lol
agree Brinja; - a bit of sense
if you are bidding at auction - think around £1000 / carat

insurance value much more
buying in a shop the mark up is around 3 (triple that is not 3% )
Have just been looking at a 1.2 carat diamond unset for $1600.00 us$. To have it set will push the price up. You can check the Rap report for diamond prices.

Diamond prices would be of no great interest to me, unless I found one. :-)
