Maternity Benefits Help
11 Answers
I have been living out of the country for a year we have now returned and we are looking to start a family. However i don't want to start a job then get pregnant soon after I start so was looking at starting without getting a job first. I know I can't have tax credits as my partner earns over 26000 a year. I don't claim any benefits at all never have so unsure if I would get anything at all but before leaving uk for a year had worked since 17 to 31.

i know it's up to you, but it's silly to hold off getting a job to try and get pregnant in my opinion. you may as well start a job, then deal with things IF you get PG. What if takes you 5 years to get PG? are you just going to sit around eating cake and shagging?
even if you got pregnant immediately after starting work, you'd still have a fair few months of work before you had a baby.
