After being on two lots of antibiotics I've succumbed to the dreaded thrush. Tues night I used a Canestan pessary but I'm not convinced it's worked, are they supposed to cure it in one go or do you have to repeat treatment. What do you think about the oral tablet, are they as effective.

Thanks for any replies.

Thanks Tez, just bought the Canestan one £11 :(

Expensive getting sick isn't it?
Boots own version is a lot cheaper!

But you have to give the pessaries a few days to work and they sometimes for you 3 pessaries in severe cases.

Thanks Queenie, I've taken the tablet already :)

Fingers crossed it'll bloody work.
I'm sure it will I have had in the past had 3 pessaries and the oral tablet so it should knock it on the head. I don't know if your local pharmacy may offer a minor ailments service where you can get treatments for things like thrush without having to pay through the nose - could be worth enquiring about.

Hope you feel better soon :)
" ...pay through the nose ..."

No, I'll leave it, I'm better than that!!
