He is watching Spurs V Tromso which kicked off at six o'clock. However, because he keeps stopping the match and doing other things like feeding the dogs, having a shave, getting his beer out of the fridge, going to the loo etc., the match is still going on.

I've had over forty years of boring football .
Three men who live and breathe bloody football ..lol.
Even though the sprogs have flown the nest ,they still have in depth discussions on the phone .
And I'm the only Brit in the house so you can imagine things like the World Cup etc .
I pay no attention whatsoever and if they want food during these oh so crucial things they can get it themselves !

I can only sympathise Tilly2, I have a footie maniac, darts, snooker, rugby is his real passion and boxing. However if his meals are ready he eats then and there while it is hot or it is left on the kitchen top. I'd eat mine in front of him.
