Escitalopram - Please Don't Read If You Are Sqeamish.

Hello everyone.
Until six weeks ago, I had been taking 40mg of Citalopram per day for some years but felt they weren't working any more. I am 48 but have now gone through the menopause so my Doctor thought that changing to Escitalopram would suit me better.
Since taking them I feel less weepy but very tired which is fine. Unfortunately, I have a blood disorder which caused bleeds internally and externally. I had an operation on my nose about three ago to 'kill off' some blood vessels as I was having several nose bleeds a day, lasting several hours. That reduced my nosebleeds to a few a month and they didn't last as long.
Whilst I have been on Escitalopram, the bleeds have started again, gradually at first but now I am yping one-handed leaning over a bowl after three hours of bleeding. I am used to this from pre-op time but wondered whether this is because it's been three years since op or the Escitalopram. I am glad to be less blubbing but not if it's making my bleeds worse. Sorry for such a long and gory post.

Thank you rocky, trt and squad. I have telangiectasia and angiodysplasia. I do not absorb or retain iron so have iron infusions. Since having my nose op, the bleeds have been less frequent a not so 'severe'. I've had it cauterised and packed numerous times but the op was the only thing that lessened them. I will go to A & E later if I have to. but the thought of having the equivalent of a tampax hammered up my nose again makes me quiver! I know there are people going through a lot worse and I'm being a wus.
