How would you feel? Granddaughter asked what we could do for my daughters 25th anniversary etc. we decided not a meal with family as daughter wasn't enamoured, so have bought an iPad for them. We don't know what the son in law was going to do, heard nothing more from gdaughter even tho we had bought the iPad To give on behalf of us and the two grandchildren. Heard nothing more. Asked her via Facebook today as teed off not hearing anything, was told s in law sorted something but not told what. We have the iPad and no doubt granddaughter will collect n deliver but other than that nothing..now told that it's all sorted but only because I asked on Facebook. We are really fed up, thought she could have let us know because she wanted to involve us in the first place. Date is near Xmas for anniversary yet we were not informed until I asked today. Are we right in feeling miffed when she instigated it and yet we are still not sure what is happening? Just thought I would see what others think, thanks.

in fairness sher, I think you had a right to be miffed,
No-one is going to be happy regarding a marriage, whether it's the first or not.

No-one remembered our Wedding Anniversary, (not even Mr alba,) but hey ho, that's life.

Dunn, have your phoned your daughter?
I can see why Mr and Mrs D are miffed....it's not right to be treated this way.
But I wouldn't wait and then just dance to my families tune....in fact if I could afford it I'd clear off to a hotel for a few days without telling them. Let them wonder and worry.

I know I'm grumpy today but people shouldn't be treated and...by paying for the iPad...used this way......

Take care D...x
G, why are you grumpy today ?
But, Gness, Maybe something secret is planned for mrs d's birthday and granddaughter is trying to make sure she doesn't know?
That's a very good point, psybbo. You might have to just wait and see, Dunn.
I think they are probably doing something for your birthday too and don't want to give the game away, so are keeping you out of the loop. Keep the iPad until you get an invite to something. Sometimes surprises end up affecting the person being surprised being left out!

Thanks to those seeing my point. Yes could be son in law doing for my bday n all, but should be for their anniversary. OH says he would like to sod off for the day and let them get on with it. My daughter is my life and when I asked her what they were doing for their 25th she just said, nothing as yet. I know she would like something but her OH does not usually take charge. Will wait to see what happens, I'm not miffed for me, I want so much for her to have something as she is suffering from cancer so my concern is for her no one else. Thanks guys, your comments are taken on board. X
It could be that something has been organised for the anniversary and your birthday, and that's why everyone is being so cagey about it all.

Can your husband ask your son-in-law what is going on? He (your husband) could say that he wants to plan the day for you so needs to know if anything is happening that he needs to consider.

If there is nothing arranged, why not just go away with your husband for your birthday? You could go for lunch just you and your daughter the day before or after.
now your whole concern makes sense, :)
