Road Rage...

Driving in unfamiliar territory today and on approaching a roundabout I got in the wrong lane. (Very large roundabout with traffic lights) When the lights changed I checked my mirrors and decided if I put my foot down I could change lanes. That was until a motorist decided to blast me with his lights and horn. I put my hand up to say sorry and thought no more of it. I must add at this point if I had stayed in my original lane I would have had to go on the motorway.Totally wrong direction that I was heading for. I digress, Next set of traffic lights the said motorist jumps out of his car and is running toward me (thank you mirrors) I saw him coming and quickly locked my self in. He battered my window, kicked my car and called me a lot of names. Then the lights changed. I pulled away and thought would he have done this if I was a 20 stone man. I don't half miss Mic in these situations.

Its very intimidating and some roundabouts are horrid and it is easy to get the wrong lane (even on familiar r-abouts). What an idiot.
He got out of the wrong side of the bed and just remember - there is no logic to actions like this, they do not think about what they are doing as a kind of red mist hits them and their thinking is warped. Not as bad as this but I have had the flashing lights and horns and sign language! and it shakes me up but not for long. I pull in at the first opportunity just to relax and let it go as I get dehydrated very quickly when this sort of thing happens and I just need to get it off my mind and fine again.
Hope you are OK. x

This might cheer you up, jeza.
I'm 6'3 and 20st+. My uncle Eugene twice the size of me.
We had to go out in his wife's little car one day. The poor little car was struggling.
This angry little bloke raced around in front of us,screeched to a halt and jumped out of his car.
Eugene said "I suppose we'd better get out and see what he wants"
I got out and the poor little car nearly tipped on its side but it stopped the bloke in his tracks.
Then Eugene, sort of, unfurled himself from his side. The guy looked from me to Eugene to the little car rocking between us. Lol, you've never seen a bloke move so fast in your life.
They're all little bankers, jez. ;)

jeza - that is terrible. do hope you are feeling a bit better now. of course some peopoe would not bother with pepperminty spray but go straight for fly killer. i went out yesterday and got blasted from behind whilst i waited for someone using a stick to cross the road (not on a crossing there aren't many down here). so crawled away slowly on narrow road where there is no chance of passing and then put foot down when there was. i was driving g/sons twin carb sports version. felt good leaving him well behind and no chance of overtaking. then i slowed again on next narrow bit.
bullies like that are an accident looking for womewhere to happen. imo it should be in the highway code that each driver and vehicle is potentially a lethal weapon.
take care. x and best wishes to mic. ()

Jeza, I have been there, and wished I was a burly big bloke so I could smack the guy in the face. They always do it to women, or very small men. I was targeting a couple of weeks ago, sitting outside my mums house, headlights on, dark wet evening at 8pm, this bloke came up to my car, aggressively and said I was blinding him with my lights, i put my lights on because i was pulling out. He got nasty, and said he was going to smack me in the face, I wish I had a breath spray/fly spray, I do keep a deodorant can in the car, but at a time like that you panic, and want out. I am pregnant, that's why I called the police, otherwise I would have caused him real damage before driving away, I was very angry!
