I'm off there today - anyone else going - fancy a lunchtime pint?

[ actually the Good Food Show is on as well, so if you're going to that you'll only be just round the corner from the bikers, if some lunchtime 'refreshment' is on your dance card ]

I remember Vale Onslow, hc.

You could queue for ages, but didn't mind because the banter was good and the tea was (usually) free.

Also, when you got to the front of the queue, you had the undivided attention of a real expert who would sort out your problem and find the right bits.

Happy days

dave...passed my driving test on an OK Supreme (second hand) and then bought a BSA Bantam 125..........didn't pull the birds, but luckily my good looks and personality compensated.

I then saw the light, abandoned Labour, voted Tory and that enabled me to buy a car...LOL.......still 2nd hand.

Bikes are not what they were sqad .... they now start in the morning, go round corners in the wet and the brakes work.

In the 'good old days', 6volt electrics meant that the headlight was about as bright as a glow worm in a sack and and you got a very over-developed right leg from endless kick starting.
Ah the days of a pool of oil underneath the engine every morning.
And bits all over the kitchen floor and table..oh how I miss it.....☻
dave.......LOL.....exactly.
I worked there in the 70s, Dave. Happy days.
