I'm thinking of buying a sat nav and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good make that is reasonably priced. I heard that TOM TOM was probably the best to go for....any ideas? I don't really want to spend more than 250
Hi hattster...just this very morning read the "On Test" report on sat navs in the March (page 24) Computing Which Mag and they rate the Garmin "Street Pilot i3" as their Best on Test. Also it is only 170 ccording to their info. personaly I don't know it but thought you might be interested.
I have a tomtom500, and have used many other sat-nav systems in rental cars. I can say that tomtom do the most intuitive, simple but comprehensive, icon-driven software. Its awsome. The 500 is 400+, so I would go fot the tomtomone as derekpara suggests. It has pretty much all the functionality of the 500 but is smaller and much cheaper!
i disagree with erimus one the european mapping on the go 700 is far superior to the 300 and 500 when buying ask yourself for what purpose do i want the system? if the answer is mainly uk even a tom tom one would probably suffice if on the other hand you are frequently doing european motoring i would reccomend a 700 simple reason as previously mentioned better mapping than 500 also if you buy a 300 and then find you want euro maps they come at a cost where as standard fit on 700 . good luck anyway
