I bought a MP3 player. As I currently live abroad the instructions were in a foreign language. I tried to download from a site but the files don't work because they're Windows media files and apparently you have to convert them into .mp3 files. Can any of you fine people suggest good, legal sites from which to download music and how do I do it? Thanks.

go to i-tunes on the apple website if you want to pay, or download a sharing program like limewire or bearshare and you can download files for free, not entirely legal though. If you want to convert the files you have already to mp3 then download a program called "wavepad" this is a really simple converter and editor and is free from download.com. Then all you do is open the files with wavepad and then Save as MP3 files rather than wma.
using audacity from audacity.sourceforge.net/ you can convert .wma or .wav to MP3 format files, or vice versa.

I'm sorry Spacechimp. Thanks for the advice. I find MP3s frustrating as it's not just a simple case of plug it in and listen and I tried limewire and paid for some music but nothing happens when I click on the icon you put onto your computer.

If there's a difficulty with converting them I can help, if there's a way of communicating outside of AB.

Thank you. That's very kind. I don't have a computer of my own yet which is probably one of the reasons I'm experiencing problems with it.
