I`ve got a list of geneology sites. Don`t know all the web addy`s but just key in the names.

CINDY`S List,

Ancestry.co.uk

freebmd.rootsweb

www.genuki.org.uk

The mormons also have a great site. It`s free. You can do a lot of free searches, but on some you you have to pay.

Remember to verify as much detail as you can before purchasing any information and also remember it is and was a very big world and people had very similar naming patterns, therefore be sure you are on the right tgrack by learning as much as you can from older relatives and family papers before investing your money.

Personally I couldn't have done half my tree without my subscription to Ancestry.co.uk. It cost 60 a year but if you think of it as less than 1.50 per week, how many other hobbies are this cheap!

They have censuses from 1851-1901 (1841 arriving shortly) and loads of other databases. This is if your ancestors are English or Welsh, there are very few records for Irish or Scottish.

I used Ancestry for over a year & didn`t get very far with them.
