The term, "conflict" is a bit generic.

He can start by looking up the word in a dictionary. Then he can tell you what context he needs to do some research in. Far too vague as it stands.

Is this for school or personal interest? If it's for school, try BBC Bitesize site in whichever subject it is. The context is important, as "conflict" has different interpretations in News, psychology, sociology, etc etc. Wiki might be a good start, too.

I am not sure why he finds it so confusing. Is he of school age yet? As others have said the context is vital if it's school or college work.
