Car Insurance Write Off?

Hiya
My son who is 21 has recently bought a new car on finance. He has comp insurance and gap insurance. Some idiot drove into his car when he wasnt in it and has now caused £1500 of damage. The car is worth about £4500. Will the insurance company repair the car or will they write it off?

I think you will find that they will repair, difference between value and damage repair cost not close enough for a write off.
