Front Fog Lights Fuse

Hello. Mysteriously the fuse has gone missing from my front fog lights. It's supposed to be a 15a one but I didn't have one of those so I've stuck in 20a one. Any problems I might have?

It shouldn't be a problem for a short period Zacs but I would replace it with a 15amp one asap just in case you get an overload,it is 15amp for a reason

If it was up to me, I would make use of fog lights illegal, except when it is really, REALLY foggy.

Fuse sizes serving a specific device/lamp(s) etc. are generally rated just above whatever normal the current (amperes) is and the wiring is also of a size to cope with that current without overheating. In the event of a short of some sort on that circuit branch the fuse should blow to protect the wiring - if the fuse is replaced with a higher rated one then if a short occurs the wiring may overheat before that fuse blows. In car wiring, the device itself often forms part of the wiring because the return part of the circuit is through the casing or some other way to the body which completes the circuit to the power source. The advice you have is sound: Put in the correct fuse at the earliest opportunity.
