Good News, Not Bad

Have just seen the wonderful report on ITV news about the American doctor who has travelled to India and restored the site of 1000 blind and partially blind, men, women and children, in 24 hours.

What a marvellous man!

The News is not all bad.

I seen it earlier, isn't he a fab man, a simple operation to make them see again, I had a relative with catarah (sp) but we take it for granted they get treated, he's great, he really gave them a second chance and for no self gratifiation

Bizarre isn't it, all those trained opthalmologists in India....

Each 'op took approx, 5 minutes. He used the glass from Spitfire planes as it was realised during the war that pilots who had suffered from glass from their windshields getting into their eyes, didn't suffer rejection by the eye.

This question was posed earlier on today and I just thought that this was GOOD news for a change. Don't spoil it by pontificating. Just be glad.

I think it's fantastic news chrissa. What I was saying is that various governments around the 3rd world accept aid from the west, then cop-out on looking after their own people.

Yes it is wonderful news that somebody cares more about the Indian people than the Indian Government or Indian Eye surgeons who 'struggle' to survive in the west.

I saw it (no pun intended) and thought it was fabulous in the way the idea was thought of, from the Perspex (if that's what it was originally) from spitfire planes, my old RAF dad would have loved to have known that, I am sure he didn't as I would have remembered

Carrust and co might like to reflect on our 'perspective' that allows us to run wars on the other side of the planet and renew trident nuclear submarines yet leave people waiting in ambulances for acceptance into A&E for hours!
