spacechimp - you make me marvel did you work that out for yourself or were you told/shown. I am a learner on the keyboard and I just can't imagine finding that out for myself ! or maybe I'm just a na�ve.

I have no idea if this is the answer you want, but squinting is being cross-eyed, or looking through half-closed eyes. Squinter is very occasionally used as QM says, for what the Duke of Edinburgh would call slitty eyes.
