I've booked a week in Venice and am wondering if anyone out there knows how to obtain a 'Venice Card' (a cost-effective means of getting around the city). Please point me in the right direction!

Ps - their website has been down for some time, so that's no good.

The Venice Card link, from the official Venice Tourism website, is indeed dead. This one seems to work, however:

Chris

If you google "venice card" and go direct to their site, indeed all you get is a lot of red script gobbledegook.

try http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/venice-card.htm and click the Venice Card link at the bottom of that page.

Well, it worked for me & I got to the "buy" page. Hopefully you can too.

When you get into Venice from the Airport go to the many ticket offices along the canal. The main ones are just off the bus station.Incidently the bus is the cheapest way to get from the Airport,3 euro's,tickets obtainable as soon as you come through the Arrivals bit. A Venice Card is the best thing to get it will save you a fortune. My mum & I have just come back you'll love it.But be warned if you are going sometime soon take some warm clothing....We have never been so cold...That aside what a magical place...Enjoy..
Vikki is right but make sure you get the blue bus at the airport not the yellow one. The yellow bus is local with not much room for luggage. You get the ticket at the booth in the airport. Check this out on the Marco Polo (Venice) airport website
