Recently above is scratching his back quite a number of times. I have noticed like a scab on his right hip - so I thought it was dirt and I showered him a number of times but no the thing remains.

It is not irritating him but now the more I look or feel it I am perhaps thinking chewing gum he has picked it up.

Can anybody give me a tip to try before going to vets again. Thanks

Nope, I'd go to the vet if it's not shifted. Can you see it, could it possibly be a tick? They're quite big, and hang on for grim death.
Given his history take him to the vets

it is the size of 2 penny bit.
Could be ringworm - is it a circle? If it is it can be caught by humans.
