Funny, I remember being fascinated by the lovely designs Jack Frost had left on the insides of the windows, but don't remember how cold it was, apart from when we first went to bed. It was lino on the floor too.

When my brothers and I were boys in the 50's and 60's I can never remember my Mum ever buying us jumpers. They were all handknits. Mum could knit, watch TV and talk, all at the same time. I think knitting is where this dubious reputation women have for being able to multi-task comes from.
