I treated myself to a nice bottle of chanel chance with my birthday money and can hardly smell it Mr Fruit brought a £1.50 brute deodorant and I can smell it on him for best part of the day

Depends if you want subtlety, or something that hits you in the face with its strength.

A perfume should not be so strong it is overpowering.

Some perfumes don't smell very nice on different skins. I am very fond of Stella but it smells like old ladies on me. Anything that is particularly pungent just ends up smelling of vanilla (which i dislike).

Boo, that is so funny! They redesigned the packaging on my favourite perfume a few years ago and as much as I still love the smell, I think they must have changed the perfume slightly too. It doesn't seem to have the same 'oomph'.

I can only wear certain perfumes, most don't stay on me at all. My best buy is Paloma Picasso.

Men scents always seem to be far stronger. I can smell Lynx from 20 paces.
