How To Resize Your Monitor Display Without Losing Resolution
2 Answers
Basically when I am using an application, an important section running down the left hand side of my monitor is hidden (to ilustrate the apple on the top bar is half hidden) I am using a Mac (OS X Ver.10.9). For instance when I'm using Adobe Illustrator, if I open my palettes at the top a load of colours are hidden. I have searched on the Mac forums, but the solutions don't seem to apply (they may be referring to older OS?! who knows). I can re-scale the screen in System Preferences but the resolution is lost. Anyone know of a potential solution?

Go to tha Apple and click on System Preferences.
Click on Displays.
At the bottom, click on 'Detect Displays'
Then use the OverScan option to pull the display in to show the whole desktop.
