My Ford KA has been juddering during acceleration and then the the check engine light flashes amber a few times and then the lights goes off. Can anyone please offer any advice as to what the problem could be?
Thanks
L
It's likely to be an ignition problem. When you accelerate, the petrol-air mixture is richer, and you need a bigger voltage across the spark plugs to get a spark. This can cause a high voltage short circuit across the ignition leads and misfiring. Try drenching the ignition leads and distributor with WD 40 spray. If there's still no joy try changing the spark...
You might not have the same problem though. They'll put it on the machine thingy and it will bring up any faults. It will cost much more if you break down...

The engine management light on my VW Polo kept coming on and the engine began misfiring. I was advised to check the plugs even though they had only done 17k miles (40k claimed by manufacturer). On removal three plugs were very worn, with wide gaps. New ones fitted and performance restored and engine management light out. Worth a try.
