Update On Rover
Dear cat people,
Rover had dental surgery yesterday - I was worried sick all day about the anaesthesia, he is such a precious boy after all we've been through with him. He had one tooth out and a good old tartar-chip-off. Collected him last night, he's now fast asleep on his best blanket, having demolished two pouches of food - still on antibiotics and had his last painkiller this morning.
The vet said his kidney function results are not brilliant, so I hope that means that he might have to go back on CKD meds and nothing more sinister... but I'll know more when he goes for his post-op checkup on Monday morning.
Thank you to all for your support last week when he stopped eating - it's so good to be able to share stuff like this, on here.

You will no doubt be doing what I did with Maggie, making life the best you possibly can until his time eventually comes. My little girl had a very good life up until the very end but it is so sad to see their slow decline and know there is nothing you can do to stop it, just make it the best it can be. Sorry if I'm stating the blindingly obvious, I do have a degree in it:-( Big kiss for Rover and you.
