Nursing degree/DipHE/PGDip and career prospects

Does anyone know if there's any difference in long term career prospects between someone with the DipHE, BSc/BN or a graduate with another health-related degree plus the PGDip in nursing?

I know all newly qualified nurses start at the same grade, but do the degree-qualified nurses progress faster or have better job opportunities? The NHS website is quite ambiguous when it comes to finding an answer for that!

yes you can definately progress up the ladder faster if you hold a degree.

Not 100% on this but i though that all nurses needed to get a degree at some point as i know a number of nurses who have a diploma and have been nursing for years but are now having to convert their diploma into a degree. so i can't understand why if this is the case, the diploma hasn't been scrapped.

diploma student however get a much larger bursary during training.
