i used my visa electron to pay a deposit for a plot of land which i intend to buy a house on the retailer did not have a terminal to swipe my card so she filled in a foem and i signed to confirm the purchase she said that the details would be used to at a different office
dose this mean the transaction went ahead i asked if they accepted visa electron and she said yes but now im worried it wont go through

Check with either the retailer or your bank to see if the transaction has gone ahead.
If it has, it'll be deducted from your available balance instantly - this you can check with your bank.
If you check with the retailer then they'll be able to tell you if it's gone ahead, if not when it will and also if there were any problems if they tried and failed to process the payment.
The benefit of using a card machine is that the transaction is almost instantanious. The paperwork system is secure, but there is a delay while the paperwork gets to the clearing bank. How long this delay is will depend on when they bank the slips.
