Are there any shops where I can buy television at duty free prices? I am diplomat and would like to know if there are any online stores catering to diplomats visiting UAE?

Ask your embassy.... which country are you from, though, you would probably still have to pay the duty if you return to the country you represent.
In some circumstances diplomats can buy duty-free goods though the embassy or some associated Commissary shop. Duty may very well be payable on the goods when they are moved to the diplomat's original country after the posting, but if they are to be taxed at all, the tax will be levied on the value of the goods when they arrive. If a television is ( say ) 2 years old it will be valued at very little. Also, it may be worthless if it cannot be used on a different electrical supply. It is also possible to buy goods duty-free, use them for a couple of years, then sell them to a local person ( non-diplomat). The local person may have to pay tax, but again it will be at a reduced rate, depending on the resale-value of the goods when sold.
