Whilst it is possible to "chip" the engine management system, this will normally provide a power increase of 10% or more, depending on the chip. It's impossible, though, to tune the engine to the same power & credentials as the 150bhp car.
I recently had an ECU remap to my Golf 1.8T which took it from 150BHP to 207BHP. Amazing power difference. Have a look at http://www.revotechnik.com/. For your model, it will take it up to 170BHP.
