Not withstanding the abject stupidity required to tweet this sort of thing, or even be involved in tweeting, full stop, is this an overreaction?

Not really. She's in PR (well was). That makes it even more stupid than it otherwise would have been. What an idiot.

the girl's a fool!
It was a pretty infantile statement for anybody to make.
How could she ever think it was OK to do that? Reading some of the previous stuff she's tweeted she really is terminally stupid. Sigh.
I'm yet to fathom the fascination for typing out one's (almost) every waking thought and subsequently sending it to the world as a text message.

Maybe I'll get it some day......

I too find that perplexing chill.
Considering her job it is not really an overreaction. I mean would you want to employ someone who does not engage brain before mouth (or fingers in this case) as a PR man/woman?

Facebook/Tweeting. Tools of the devil, proved yet again.

And I dont get it either. Probably because I am an old Git with a modicum of intelligence.

It is proof that she is hopeless at Public Relations, which was her function at the company. It is not unusual that if an employer finds out an employee cannot do their allocated job, that they are removed.

It is one thing for a thicko MP to post a drunken innappropriate tweet, but for someone whose job is PR, I would say their dismissal is warranted.
she works for a company that runs a dating website for African-Americans. She was born in Suth Africa herself (but, I am guessing, white South Africa and doesn't really think of it as Africa at all).

Bit of a clot, really, isn't she? Definitely in the wrong job; in another line of business she might have got away with it.
