My first great grandchild is now 14 days overdue which means she will be born over the Christmas period.
My daughter was born on the 22nd of December and has always grumbled that it was over looked by many people because they were too busy with Christmas.
it depends how long mum takes to recover, but I do know here its not unusual to be discharged 4th/ 5th day post op. maybe even 3rd day. far too early IMO . well done the exhausted mum :)
Anne, she is being induced today.
I have just realised that if she is born between 11 and 12 o'clock then her birthday will be 24th of December because she is in Sweden and there is a 1 hour time difference.
The medics advised that it was best to wait to see what happened.
I must admit that I am getting worried now, she has been in labour nearly all day. Poor thing, she must be worn out.
there are several ABers (including me) on the 29th. I used to like it when I was little, the decorations were still up. Once we started celebrating New Year too (which we never did until ? the seventies) it became a week of festivities!
Anne, baby girl was born at 8am GMT today.
Had to be brought by ceasarian section.
Sorry things are still a bit sketchy at the moment, just grandsonrang to say " I am not going through that again" Huh.
Family is allowed to see the baby but not the mother so I am still a bit concerned don't feel that I can really celebrate until I know that all is well. Thank you very much for your interest.
Update from my daughter after visiting.
Beautiful, healthy baby girl weighing 8lbs.
Mother OK but exhausted and under sedation but she will be fine.
Grandson can stay at the hospital until she is well enough to go home. Twin bedded rooms, do we have them here now?
Is there anyone with any knowledge about ceacarian(sorry can't spell it.) Could you tell me how long it is likely to be before they can go home
