Last Man Standing

Well we are at daughters for Xmas, had a wonderfuL day, lots of pressies, food drinks, lots of friends and neighbours round, played lots of games, bananaramara, logo and another one about name three things. Everyone gone to bed now except me. I need a little while on my own, most of day we had nine children here, very noisy but entertaining. Got some sloe gin, lippy and a quick crossword. Belated Happy Crimbo everyone who is still up.

Wo ended up looking after all the kids? Was it you?

When I was younger (back in my teaching days) everyone seemed to assume that, because of my occupation, I was the ideal person to look after all the kids at any party or family gathering. The fact that they were frequently pre-schoolers (and I taught at secondary level) seemed to make no difference whatsoever to parents who were eager to offload their little darlings onto someone else!

no chris , that's wrong. imo. your child. your responsibility . and really what teacher wants to look after children on a social occasion.

No Chris they all looked after themselves really, some joined in games others watched tv. In the game of name three things ( can't remember real name) they all really enjoyed my question of naming three things I need to say that I need the toilet. I said, I need a we're, i a pee and I am bursting. The kids fell about with laughter and a kind of embarrassment!

Glad you had a good Christmas Day Caran, I always wanted to be on my hand and knees playing with the children, rather than in the kitchen.

I shall have a houseful tomorrow (later today) and really looking forward to it.

Having said that we are only two miles at the most up the road from home.
