Philips Of Liverpool Manufacturers Of Tools
I've bought an auction lot of wood-carving / turning chisels. Among them is a set of very handsome ebony-handled chisels bearing the stamp PHILIPS LIVERPOOL. I've been unable to track this firm down, or, indeed, any other examples of these tools on e-bay. Can anybody enlighten me with a bit of the history? It may not even be Liverpool in England.

For example, I have an old pocket watch which is marked on the dial "FELT BROTHERS TORONTO". The watch was made by a major watch making company as advertising for the Felt's business.
Thank you for trying, but neither of the answers helped really, I'm sorry. From experience, it is definitely a manufacturer's mark, and normally they can simply be traced by using Google. I'm convinced there must be somebody out there who knows of this manufacturer, but, so far, I've come up with a big fat zero. I'll put feelers out every couple of weeks.
