National Savings Certificate Book

Hi,
On a recent visit to my mother, she handed me a very old green cardboard book with 'National Savings Certificate book' in my name on the front and inside were several certificates of various monetary value, dated from 1978. What am I to do with this as my mother hadn't a clue how I could get the money from it.

You can do this on line,but make sure that you get the official site,and not one that will charge you a fee for their " services ",when you can do this easily yourself.

The Post Office no longer have any association with Savings Certificates - nor with most National Savings products - hence their puzzlement

As stated above, you need to contact NSI diredtly

Yes, they are not responsible for the provision and administration of National Savings but it would be a poor show if they didn't know to point you in the direction of NSI. Did they offer no help at all?

I work in a Post Office and would probably have giving Purple Popple a phone number for NS and I, but some of the younger people who work in Post Offices (I can think of 2 personally) wouldn't have had a clue.

Anyway, hope you get a nice surprise Popple!
