why is the data sort on excel not working properly?

I have added together two sets of information to an excel sheet that I need to sort by page number. I cut and paste section A to the top of the page and section B below it, ensuring the the cells matched up, but when i go to data sort it doesn't mix the information to display it by page order. Section A goes from 1 to 147 then B kicks in with the same numbers. I need to get all same page numbered material together etc. what am I doing wrong?

Once you have selected the entire range of cells to sort, and brought up the Data > Sort box, you need to ensure that the column containing your page numbers is the column listed in the 'sort by' field, and that should definitely work.
