can you use thai curry paste for marinade?

Didn't really want to make thai curry, but do have the red and green pastes! Can you use it for a chicken marinade, (would like to make chicken skewers) if so do I just rub the chicken with the paste, or should I add extras?

You can mix the paste with natural yoghurt and marinade for some hours

Yes I do so to make it easier that the preparation of the dishes in which it is aplied is not getting stiffer.
