Songs used in funeral services

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but here goes. We need to provide two songs for a funeral service held in a church. The two songs in particular we've struggled to find in the usual music shops and we don't have them on CD (and don't know anyone who does), we are running out of time to order them. Why does it have to be original CD's - is it a copyright issue? I thought that by downloading songs from say ITunes is legal? Someone else told me they just refuse them because sometimes the copied CD's don't work, but if we checked they did, why could we not use them?

When we had my hubbys funeral four years ago, the funeral directors did all that. They had a vast selection.Maybe its worth checking that your ones dont do all this for you.I thought they all did nowadays?It would save you a lot of hassle.

Check that your church minister approves of doing this - if the songs are secular, I know our church would only play sacred music at funerals.

It's actually 2 Elvis Presley gospel songs, but they're very difficult to get hold of as they weren't his usual rock and roll stuff a friend has offered to download them to CD from ITunes but I'm not sure if it's allowed.

Thank you all for your replies. Someone has kindly sourced the CD I need and can get it delivered tomorrow in time for Thurs. I believe it had to be a an oriiginal CD as opposed to downloaded versions copied to CD. But thank you for your help
