Lol. Just heard on the radio. Teachers in Mexico are protesting against a new law. Apparently, they've traditionally passed their jobs on to their children (or sold them) Mad world, innit.
It's not a job as such, sweety. I'm a volunteer. They would love it if I went in five days a week but I'm trying to find other things to do with my time. Two afternoons is plenty for me. If they paid me, I might think differently.
I remember an interview with a union leader when the dockers were on strike ( 1970s, I think ) The interviewer said' you've been guaranteed a job for life, what more do you want.'
The union guy said 'we want guaranteed jobs for our children and grandchildren.'
People get weird ideas, don't they. ;-)
Well, I can understand the principle behind that but my parents didn't want me to follow in their footsteps, especially as my Dad was a miner. He said, 'No daughter o' mine is going dahn t'pit' ;-)
