Hi again drodrigue. I noticed your question below about pregnancy and breast tenderness-this link says tenderness can be a side effect of coming off depo-it's also a possible side effect of having it tho! it also links to page about the length of time it takes fertility to return after discontinuing depo. There are a lot of horror stories on the web about this drug, so any concerns you have would be best raised with a family planning nurse or GP.
I am on depo at the moment and have been for 6 years. About six months ago I thought I'd give my body a break and came of it and onto the pill. Once my 28 days on the pill was up I got my period straight away. It was a bit of a surprise as I thought it would take a while for my body to get back to normal. I was on the pill for 3 months and then went back on the depo.
It was interesting what teag1rl said about breast tenderness. When I came off depo my breast tenderness was horrible. Almost unbearable. Wasn't sure if it was the pill but now I'm guessing it was the depo. Horrible side affect.
I expect it depends how long you've been on it as to how quickly you'll conceive. I was made aware when I started depo that it could take up to 2 years to conceive.
