My mother-in-law had pancreatic cancer. She was very sprightly six months before her death, five months before her death, four months... It was only in the last five or six weeks that she got much weaker and frailer. I'm sure it varies enormously, of course, but I don't think Hailey's situation/condition is unrealistic.

Thank you Neveracrossword
My mother looked fine until she ws diagnosed with bowel cancer, didn't even know she was ill. Unfortunately, she went downhill by quickly and was dead within the month.
Althouth never totally confirmed I think my sister had pancreatic cancer and she first took ill 12 weeks before she died. They were never able to confirm if it was liver, pancreas or gall bladder cancer, even with a post mortem, the week before she took ill she was out with her friends as usual and was at work
I totally agree Butterbun.
Severe back pain and bloatedness are typical symptoms at most stages of this cancer but have not not mansifested themselves for some reason but 6-12 months life expectancy is not unreasonable so Hailey's departure is likely to be soon. Gid bless her and my late wife who had 12 months.
