As you come out of the York Minster at the main entrance, opp there is a short st, at the End of that Street there is a hotel on your left, can anyone give me the name of the Hotel. tia TWR.

Not really TWR, as I live in York I don't use the hotels, although one of the pubs very near the Minster had a good reputation as a B&B, I'll have a look for you.

I stayed at Travel Lodge in York halfway between railway station and York Minster,easy walking distance to Yorvik Centre and everything

Are you taling about the Lamb? we have a friend coming over from California in July, I will be taking her to York / Harrogate / Skipton / Howorth, she is interesting in History, any Ideas your way?

Crossing the road from the Minster will take you along Stonegate. From there the Guy Fawkes Inn is on the right, not on the left! Your directions lead to Galtres Lodge:

All the hotels around the Minster are about £100 to £120 a night, Buenchico if you come out of the Minster opposite Stonegate I don't consider that the main door.........
